Bio
I am an energetic and enthusiastic teacher who loves to share my knowledge and passion for yoga. I’m a former classical and contemporary dancer with almost 30 years of teaching experience. I began my dance training in Montreal, and went on to study at the North Carolina School of the Arts (University of North Carolina) and at the School of the Toronto Dance Theatre. I was the owner and artistic director of L’Académie de Danse Classique from 1999 until 2015 and continue to teach classical ballet and contemporary dance. I was the founder of la Compagnie de Danse Pourquoi Pas in 2010. Yoga quickly became an integral part of my life when I began practicing over 25 years ago. After attaining certifications in various styles of yoga, and attending many intensive workshops and specialised trainings, I began to develop a unique approach to teaching. I have discovered a way to integrate my many years of perfecting, teaching and observing movement, with an emphasis on correct and safe alignment, into my yoga teaching. I specialise in teaching Vinyasa Flow, Yin Yoga, Therapeutic Wall Yoga and Chair Yoga for people with limited mobility. I offer an array of intensive workshops, including breaking down asana, sequencing and cueing, the science of yoga, acro-yoga and meditation. For several years, I have been part of the teaching line-up at the Park Rising and Illume Yoga and Wellness Festivals. I run local and international retreats, and work one-on-one with individuals seeking to improve their well being through yoga. In my therapeutic approach, I strive to unite all the aspects of yoga; pranayama, asana, meditation and self awareness, in a way that will allow my students to practice joyfully, safely and injury free for many years to come.
